DnD is the one hobby that is already a wiki. A campaign is a web of people, places, and decisions that only makes sense when it is linked together, which is exactly what a digital garden is good at. This room is the table log: what happened, who it happened to, and the threads still hanging.
How it is organized
One folder per campaign. Inside a campaign, the pieces cross-link:
- Session logs - one note per session, what actually happened at the table. Start from the
session template. - Characters - the party and the major NPCs, one note each. Start from the
character template. - Places and lore - towns, factions, the big mysteries. Plain notes, linked from wherever they come up.
A session log names the characters and places it touches, those notes link back, and the campaign index ties them together. That web is the point.
Campaigns
Nothing logged yet. The first campaign gets a folder here (for example off-watch/dnd/curse-of-strahd/) with its own index, and the session and character notes live inside it.
As a player vs. running it
If you are a player, the session logs are your character’s diary. If you are running it (DM), the same notes double as prep: unresolved threads at the bottom of one session become the hooks for the next.
Connections
- Off Watch
- The Mess Table - the other tabletop room, cards and board games.
